Caves II

I wasn't sure what to do with this at first. I came to the conclusion that we all belonged together; linked to one another by some kind of brotherhood. I couldn't find myself in the middle. I saw it as a linear progression and wanted to keep it that way.

Treasure Island

The name holds up. I never get bored of this place. I'm willing to go whenever. Mention the name and I've got my camera bag packed in minutes. Nothing serious here, just some shooting for shooting's sake this time around; I didn't have my trusty cloud cover, sadly. For a few more, check out my Flickr.

4x5 cameras are fun and challenging.

Obama Fever

For a solid month now I've been talking about documenting the love for Barrack Obama around my neighborhood. One of the things holding me back has been trying to decide how it should be photographed. I want it to be a straight forward document; a non-objective record. My fear is that in documentation, I will be glorifying Obama. I am not an Obama fan or follower. My interest is as an outsider. He's younger, he's fashionable (as one of my friend's put it), and I also hear that he's different.

I'm writing this as I listen to tonight's debates. But how is he different? What makes him different from any other democrat? He has no steadfast plans to: provide nationwide health care, with drawl from Iraq, or aid the poorest people of our nation to improve our homelessness and joblessness. He believes we should worry about Al Qaeda building an army against us. I guess I'm skeptical. I don't trust the major parties and I don't trust Obama.

This image I feel is the strongest so far. It's pulled back, focusing on the building and including the propaganda as an element of the structure its placed on. But still not far enough. I cut the building to a third of its size and thus emphasizing the propaganda further. The other images I've got are more focused directly on the propaganda. This allows the image to become propaganda. This is a digital image, I hope to begin using film for this project in order to make more traditional prints.

Nothing But Manlove

Every year my friends and I come to Truckee, CA and induce cabin fever.
